SUGINOHA RYU

Suginoha ryu is a jujutsu-style developed by Magnus Cederblad. It is a fundamental martial artform. It is a modern system for self-defense that harmonises the two principal rules: effectivity - it should work well - and grace - it should look good and fluid. These two principles are the foundation for this variation. In some other variations we find moves that don't live up to our expectations and that we find obsolete in daily life. Suginoha Ryu should be applicable to realistic situations. It is a youthful variation where new influences is seen as positive for each individual.

Jujutsu is like a language - never static but dynamic. Curiosity in learning and developing is the key to developing your skills in Suginoha Ryu. The system is split in two main parts - the first is with kyu- and dan-grading for grown-ups (older than 14) and the second is tailored for children and young adults up to the age of 14 (mon). The jujutsu-training is eclectic, which encompasses a wide variety of techniques.

Everyone can find his/her own style that is suitably for them. It doesn't matter if you're tall or short, heavy or light, strong or weak. This is what makes jujutsu such a good form of exercise."
