In the summer of 2026, Magnus Cederblad reached a new and significant milestone in his career. He was awarded by the International Budo Academy the prestigious Ph.D Honoris Causa of Security Sciences in Martial Arts in the Security Training System – an honorary academic title reserved for individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions within their field.

This distinction is a profound recognition of Magnus's extensive and dedicated work within martial arts and security training, cementing his position as one of the most prominent figures in this field globally. With this award, Magnus now carries the academic title of Dr. Magnus Cederblad.

First Non-Member in the World to Receive The Merit Order

Magnus Cederblad has achieved something no one else has done before him. He is the first non-member in the world to be awarded The Merit Order from the European Police Association – and in the highest possible grade: 24 carat gold.

The Merit Order is one of the most prestigious distinctions within European police and security services, previously awarded exclusively to members of the organisation. That Magnus has received this honour in gold as an outsider is a historic recognition of his extraordinary efforts and unique contributions to security training at a European and global level.

Military Training and the Foundation of a Warrior Spirit

Magnus Cederblad's path into the world of discipline and resilience began during his training as a ranger at the Swedish Norrlands Dragon Regiment. Magnus holds an 8th Dan black belt in jujutsu as well as Dan grades in judo, taekwondo, kickboxing and full-contact karate – a collection of gradings that few in the world can match. His deep technical mastery and lifelong pursuit of excellence also led him to create his own jujutsu school, Suginoha Ryu, where he passes on his unique philosophy and techniques to the next generation of martial artists.

Beyond the mats and rings, Magnus Cederblad has worked as a professional bodyguard, protecting some of the world's most prominent individuals – including the King of Sweden and the legendary musician Paul McCartney.
